JONESBOROUGH REPERTORY THEATRE |
October 5-7 and 19-28, 2007

October is the month for storytelling in Jonesborough. The Jonesborough Repertory Theatre began the first of three full weekends of storytelling theatre. The JRT players produced back to back shows of The Jack Tales, Aesop's Fables and a new tale of nursery rhyme and fairy tale, Doc Doc Goose.
With a mixed cast of adults and students, the stories came alive in a world where Jack battles giants and (with the help of a herd of animals) outsmarts a band of robbers; Wicked John goes head to head with the Devil himself; the Tortoise still wins the race; the Fox doesn’t get the grapes; and Goldilocks goes undercover in a search for Mother Goose (a.k.a. Doc Goose) who is working franticly with Jill and Nurse Gosling in hopes of removing the pail from Jack’s head.

"It has been our hope to recruit more adult actors to perform for young ages," says the theatre’s Director, Kathleen Buttolph. "We have chosen scripts perfect for all ages to enjoy."
