JRT Presents The Crucible

crucibleWinner of the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play, The Crucible is set during spring of 1692 where false accusations of witchcraft – led by the malicious Abigail Williams – bring deceit and deception across Salem, Massachusetts. This exciting drama is both a gripping historical play as well as a parable of our contemporary society.

About the Director…

The Crucible will be directed by Joe Smith, who has directed Steel Magnolias, Dearly Beloved, and Christmas Belles at Johnson City Community Theatre where he has also appeared in a number of productions, including The Mousetrap, Godspell, Ten Little Indians, and Wait Until Dark for which he won a "Best Supporting Actor" award. He is excited about his first production at JRT. Joe is a media relations coordinator at ETSU and a graduate student in the public health program.
