Seussical the Musical brings to
life many of Seuss’s beloved characters. The
show begins when the infamous Cat in the Hat draws a young boy into Seuss’s
world, visiting the Jungle of Nool, McElligot’s Pool and Whoville. Meet Horton
the Elephant who has two challenges, one to help his friend Jojo, an ordinary
boy and Who, and to guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the
irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. As Horton works to solve his challenges he
encounters many wonderful creatures including Gertrude McFuzz, Sour Kangaroo,
the citizens of Whoville, the Wickersham brothers, the Grinch and many more.
“Oh, the thinks you can think!” quotes Director
Kathleen Buttolph from the musical. “Seussial the Musical is a
Seusstastic journey into the world of Dr. Seuss. This colorful and delightful
musical will excite students and adults of all ages. JRT is the perfect
atmosphere for Seuss. Our little theatre is a treasure in the Jonesborough
community."
