JONESBOROUGH REPERTORY THEATRE |
| Education Class Schedule Theatre Instructors |
Class will start at the scheduled time. Please be on time to pick up your student. Although we always try to end at the scheduled time, sometimes the students are in the middle of a skit or scene and we choose to let them finish. We ask for your patience during these times. We will try our best to schedule class events so that this is kept to a minimum.
Class instructor, students and parent aides will be the only people allowed in the classroom area during class/rehearsal times. Parents and other family or friends may wait in the lobby area. If you need to talk loudly or have a child that is making too much noise, we would ask you to take advantage of the fine sites of Jonesborough.
No gum, food or drink is allowed in the classroom or the theatre. Water is fine. We will provide cups and cold water; however, you may bring a water bottle, if you choose. Water only - no sports drinks, etc.
You are expected to dress appropriately for the stage. This means sneakers/tennis shoes only! This is to protect you from injury. Also girls, no short skirts or dresses. You need to be able to jump, dance, run, and stretch on stage. Additionally, you may be asked to remove a hat or turn around a ball cap. You may bring a change of clothes with you; then change in the restroom, if needed.
Because your audience needs to see your face at all times, long hair (or bangs) will need to be pulled away from your face while on stage. Please bring whatever you need to do this with you to class (i.e. rubber bands/combs/barrettes/bobbie pins, etc).
Participation is the most important element of Theatre. You must expect to be called on, do your very best, speak only when it is your turn, and most importantly LEARN.
All students are expected to fulfill commitments in the class and rehearsals - be involved and complete assignments. You are a part of a class, and more importantly, a drama team. Your fellow classmates/actors are depending upon you to do your part.
If there is a discipline problem, the director/instructor will meet with the parent(s)/guardian and student. If necessary, a disruptive student will be asked to leave the class/workshop or camp and call his or her parent/guardian to be taken home. If problems persist, the student will be dismissed from the program.
